Sarkari photo & signature resizer 2026

Use this for signature scans and portals that still take a photo file (UPSC, banks, railways, PAN). SSC CGL / CHSL / GD 2026 capture a live photo on the official site — a 20–50 KB JPG will not replace that step.

SSC 2026 — live photo vs signature file

Official SSC applications on ssc.gov.in take a live photograph (webcam or phone). Photographing an existing print is rejected. Aadhaar-based OTR may waive photo/signature rejection on format grounds — still follow the notice.

  • Good light, plain background, camera at eye level, face inside the on-screen box.
  • No cap, mask, spectacles or earphones while capturing.
  • Signature is still a JPEG upload, 10–20 KB (GD 2026 notice: about 6.0 × 2.0 cm at 300 DPI). Blurred or miniature signatures are rejected.
  • PwD (VH) candidates may upload a thumb impression instead of a signature where the notice allows it.

Typical 2026 upload limits

Always match the current official notice. Portals change mid-cycle.

Exam / portal Photograph Signature
SSC CGL / CHSL / GD 2026 Live camera on ssc.gov.in — do not upload an old JPG JPEG 10–20 KB, ~6.0 × 2.0 cm, 300 DPI
UPSC CSE / IAS Usually 20–300 KB JPEG As per notice (often 20–300 KB)
IBPS / SBI PO Often under 50 KB, ~4.5 × 3.5 cm Often under 20 KB
RRB NTPC / Group D Typically under 100 KB As per CEN notice
PAN / IT portal Typically under 100 KB

How to get a signature under 20 KB

  1. Sign with black or dark blue ink on plain white paper — running hand, not block capitals.
  2. Scan or photograph in even light; crop tightly around the stroke.
  3. Choose SSC Signature above, compress, then download the JPEG.
  4. Use Preview/Print on the official form before final submit.

UPSC, bank and railway file uploads

UPSC photos are usually 20–300 KB — a phone JPEG is still too large. Use the UPSC preset. IBPS / SBI often cap photos near 50 KB. RRB notices commonly want under 100 KB and may lock the form after submit.

FAQs

Does SSC CGL 2026 still need a 20–50 KB photo file?
No. The SSC portal captures a live photograph via webcam or phone. Uploading a photo of an old print is rejected. You still upload a scanned signature as JPEG, 10–20 KB.
What size should the SSC signature be?
JPEG/JPG, 10–20 KB. Recent SSC notices (including GD 2026) ask for about 6.0 cm width × 2.0 cm height at 300 DPI. Use the SSC Signature preset, then check Preview on the official form.
How do I pass the live photo (red box)?
Plain bright background, camera at eye level, face fully inside the on-screen rectangle, no cap, mask or spectacles. Do not photograph a printed photo.
Are files uploaded to Bodhixt?
No. Compression runs in your browser. The image never leaves your device.
Which preset should I use?
SSC Signature for CGL/CHSL/GD/MTS signature. Bank Exam for IBPS/SBI photo. UPSC for CSE photo. RRB for railway photo. SSC Photo only if that specific notice still asks for a 20–50 KB file upload.
