Chief Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Chief Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory submissions for our microfinance business in Malaysia. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Malaysian accounting and regulatory

requirements, experience in financial services, and the ability to establish and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Chief Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory submissions for our microfinance business in Malaysia. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Malaysian accounting and regulatory

requirements, experience in financial services, and the ability to establish and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls. RequirementsEducation: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or MIA) is an advantage. Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance. Experience in financial services, lending, microfinance, or fintech is preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian regulations for micro-lending companies (KPKT

requirements), MFRS standards, tax rules (LHDN), and reporting obligations. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or SQL). A solid understanding of credit operations and impairment/ECL calculations under MFRS 9. Financial Reporting: Ability to prepare full financial statements, management reports, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.

Compliance: Experience communicating with auditors, tax authorities, and regulators, with the ability to ensure full compliance with licensing conditions. Process Management: Strong skills in establishing accounting procedures, internal controls, and reconciliation processes for lending operations. Languages: Fluent English is mandatory. Malay is a plus.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, reliability, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
