SLAS Exam 2026 Sri Lanka — Syllabus, Eligibility & Apply

The Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) Open Competitive Examination recruits Grade III officers into the premier administrative cadre — district secretariats, ministries, and policy roles. SLAS is gazette-driven: the Public Service Commission approves each cycle, the Department of Examinations publishes registration on doenets.lk, and candidates sit five written papers followed by an interview.

FAQ — Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) Exam

How is SLAS different from gazette clerk posts?

SLAS feeds the Administrative Service cadre for district secretariat and policy roles — far more competitive than routine Grade III clerk vacancies.

How often is SLAS held?

Not annual — depends on cadre vacancies and PSC approval. Monitor gazette and doenets.lk.

Is Sinhala or Tamil medium available?

Yes — choose on application; cannot switch after submission.

What comes after the written exam?

Interview panel, then medical and character checks before final appointment.

Where do I register?

doenets.lk when the exam window opens — the gazette alone does not complete registration.
