Exam Pattern 2026

JKPSC CCE follows the standard three-tier UPSC-style pattern. Prelims is objective with negative marking; Mains is descriptive with optional subject; Interview carries 250 marks toward final merit.

  • Prelims: 2 hours per paper; negative marking of 0.33 marks per wrong answer
  • GS Paper II (CSAT) is qualifying — candidates must secure minimum prescribed marks
  • Prelims marks are not counted in final merit — screening stage only
  • Mains: 8 papers, 2 hours each; English (300 marks) is qualifying
