Project Engineering Manager – (Civil & Structural)

Job Description Job DescriptionObjective / Purpose:Responsible for design & detailing of Civil & Structural works for the PTD IC, SS projects (11kV to 765kV) & ancillary civil related works for UPD projects. Responsible to cater to needs of all SS teams of Domestic & International. Managing Engineering activities from pre-bid engineering to detail engineering & finish of with as built drawings. , Electrical, MEP and others (BU).

PEM shall lead a team of Lead Engineers, Design Engineers and draftspersons to manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering

Responsibilities:Must be capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time.

Prepare, implement and monitor Engineering Plan aligned with the projectFacilitate the Engineering solutions or inputs for the bidding purposeLead a team having Design Leads, Design Engineers and Draughts personReview and ensure optimum design before submission to client including review of design by external consultant where applicableEnsure quantity and cost control & optimization of civil & structural quantitiesCo-ordinate with the Engineering team at project location and ensure a smooth work execution between the teams at multiple locationsInteract with project execution team for resolving the problem.

Interact with clients, get approvals, getting work done from team, Resource allocation, Schedule change handling,Seminars & Paper presentation contribution, Solution for Design (Structural & Foundations)Coordination with Site Team and Client to meet the

requirements of design and drawingsChecking BOQ and material with respect to previous projectsReview of Preparation of DBR scope of work for Project EngineeringEnsure design drawings are done based on relevant standards and codes on general engineering practices without compromising on quality. Review of critical issues as required by Project team.

Risk analysis of take clear decisions after analysing the risk and issuing manufacturing clearance to be participated by Head of engineeringFormally monthly review with project heads on critical issues & track of project to be done Technical Expertise:PEM shall be capable of executing the engineering activities for civil & structural covering GIS substation / control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, guard house, staff quarters, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous works related to the substations and cabling works.

PEM shall be able to review Vendor engineering documents with respect to Civil & Structural design Should be aware of design calculations as per codes of domestic & international codes. Proficient in Steel structures, RCC structures & Geotech aspects. Site Input Parameters – interact with Project Manager. Knowledge of Site conditions, Topographic Conditions, environmental conditions for design calculations.

Software Skills Required:Day to day: Analysis & design S/W: STAAD, ETABS. Drawing: AUTOCAD & REVITDetailing: TEKLA (Learning phase)Proficient in MS Office

Qualifications QualificationsMinimum Qualification: B. Tech. in Civil / M. Tech. in Structural Engineering / Geotech Engineering / Environmental Engineering.

Experience: 12 -18 years (Preferable experience with exposure in civil & structural aspects of Substation / Power Distribution Projects - Power transmission industry, oil and Gas, Fertilizers, Construction etc in the field of Design and Engineering) (Desirable Experience of 2-3 years as Lead in the projects) Additional Information We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company.
