Registration and choice filling run from 2 June 2026 (17:00 IST) to 11 June 2026 (17:00 IST). Choices are auto-locked at the deadline if not locked manually.

What is the JoSAA seat acceptance fee?

₹15,000 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates and ₹30,000 for all others (includes ₹5,000 JoSAA processing charges). Pay once in the round where a seat is first allotted.

What is Freeze, Float and Slide?

Freeze accepts the seat and stops further rounds. Float accepts the seat but allows upgrade to a higher-preference program in any institute. Slide accepts the seat but allows upgrade within the same institute only.

How JoSAA counselling works

Register on josaa.nic.in using JEE (Main) 2026 credentials (or JEE Advanced direct login for foreign/OCI candidates).
Fill institute-program choices in order of preference — free of cost (2 Jun – 11 Jun 2026).
Lock choices before deadline; use mock seat allocations on 8 & 10 June to test preferences.
After each round seat allocation, complete online reporting: accept seat (Freeze/Float/Slide), upload documents, pay seat acceptance fee.
NIT+ candidates pay Partial Admission Fee (PAF) after Round 5; further vacant seats via CSAB special rounds.
