Amazon is hiring a compliance professional to lead complex human rights cases across AMET, coordinate investigations, design corrective actions, oversee remediation, and strengthen compliance mechanisms throughout the supply chain.

Gender: AnyCandidate Nationality: AnyJob Type: Full-timeRole ContextThe Human Rights Compliance Manager will operate within Amazon 's Human Rights and Social Impact program and Global Remediation and Investigation Team, taking ownership of cases involving actual or potential human rights and environmental impacts across AMET.
Acting as the case-level Single Threaded Leader, the manager will oversee each matter from intake and assessment through investigation, corrective action, remedy, verification, and stakeholder response. The work supports customer trust, responsible sourcing, business continuity, regulatory preparedness, and Amazon 's broader sustainability commitments.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the case-level Single Threaded Leader for complex human rights and environmental impact matters across AMET. Manage cases that meet Human Rights and Social Impact escalation criteria. Own the complete case lifecycle from initial intake through investigation, remediation, verification, and closure. Review and assess audit findings, worker grievances, external escalations, and other non-audit sources.
Evaluate allegations to determine severity, credibility, business exposure, and required response. Decide appropriate case strategies and remediation approaches with limited supervision. Coordinate investigations into potential human rights or environmental impacts. Engage relevant stakeholders to gather evidence and establish accurate case facts. Develop corrective action plans addressing identified root causes and control weaknesses.
Design remediation measures appropriate to the nature and severity of the impact. Track corrective actions against agreed timelines and service level
requirements. Verify whether remediation measures have been implemented effectively. Coordinate stakeholder responses throughout sensitive investigations and remediation processes. Maintain rigorous case documentation, decision records, evidence, and supporting data. Protect the integrity and consistency of human rights compliance information. Apply Amazon 's Global Human Rights Principles and Supply Chain Standards when evaluating cases.
Support integration of human rights and environmental due diligence across business activities. Identify recurring trends across cases and recommend systemic improvements. Analyze case data to detect emerging risks, recurring supplier issues, or weaknesses in existing controls. Work with supply chain, legal, sustainability, compliance, operations, and business stakeholders. Facilitate timely escalation where risks require senior leadership attention.
Balance urgent impact mitigation with sustainable long-term corrective action. Contribute to the improvement of tools, processes, and governance mechanisms used for human rights due diligence. Support consistent application of remediation standards across jurisdictions. Exercise independent judgment when navigating complex, sensitive, or incomplete case information.
Help ensure that affected stakeholders receive appropriate consideration throughout the investigation and remedy process. Ideal ProfileThe position is suited to a compliance or sustainability professional with practical experience in human rights, responsible sourcing, social compliance, investigations, supply chain risk, remediation, or environmental and social due diligence.
Candidates should be capable of independently managing complex cases involving multiple stakeholders, incomplete information, sensitive allegations, and time-bound escalation
requirements. Strong analytical judgment is essential because the role requires assessment of diverse evidence sources, identification of underlying causes, and development of proportionate remediation strategies. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across different jurisdictions and navigating legal, operational, supplier, worker, and reputational considerations simultaneously.
Experience maintaining high-quality investigation records, corrective action documentation, and compliance data will be particularly valuable.
