ETA required
Singaporeans need a UK ETA
ETA required for travel from 8 January 2025
Singapore passports are on the UK ETA list. SQ and BA from Changi will not board a Singapore citizen for the UK without an approved ETA. The fee is £20. Many Singaporeans are dual British citizens — travel on the British passport and you do not file an ETA. Singapore permanent residents who hold another passport (for example Indian or Filipino) follow that other nationality, not Singapore’s ETA treatment. An ETA is not an Employment Pass analogue; it does not let you work in London.

Mistakes singaporeans make
- Applying as a Singapore citizen when you will fly on a different passport.
- Assuming ICA’s own SG Arrival Card logic applies to the UK. It does not.
London notes for Singaporean arrivals
Changi–Heathrow overnight services land at T5 (BA) or T2/T3 (SQ). Heathrow Express to Paddington is common if your hotel is near Hyde Park. Contactless daily cap is cheaper than buying a paper Travelcard for a short stay.
