Visitor visa
Colombians need a visitor visa — not an ETA
Not on Appendix ETA — Standard Visitor visa
Colombia is not on the UK ETA list. Brazil and Mexico on this site are ETA nationalities; Colombia is not. A Colombian passport needs a Standard Visitor visa. Avianca connections through Europe or the US do not change that. US visa or ESTA in your passport is irrelevant to UK ETA eligibility. Apply on GOV.UK. Dual Spanish–Colombian citizens who travel on a Spanish passport follow the Spanish ETA page instead. Do not paste a Brazilian ETA confirmation onto a Colombian booking.

- Copying a Brazilian friend’s ETA application on a Colombian passport.
- Spanish-language ‘visa waiver UK’ ads.
London notes for Colombian arrivals
You will usually connect through Europe or the US into Heathrow or Gatwick. With a granted visitor visa, contactless on TfL. Do not work on the visit.
FAQs
- Why Brazil yes and Colombia no?
- Appendix ETA lists Brazil, not Colombia. Confirm on GOV.UK.
- If I have a Spanish passport too?
- Travel on the Spanish passport and apply for a UK ETA on that document.
- Does a US tourist visa in my Colombian passport help?
