Test Engineer (Optical & Semiconductor Equipment) | Up to $8,000 | West

Responsibilities Conduct performance testing and reliability verification of R&D prototypes, including optical, electrical, motion accuracy and environmental adaptability testing. Develop test plans, establish test environments and validate key performance indicators for optoelectronic die testing equipment. Perform calibration and verification of critical parameters, including coupling accuracy, test repeatability, bit error rate and testing efficiency.

Analyse test data, prepare technical reports, identify performance bottlenecks and design defects, and drive corrective actions and design improvements. Establish product testing specifications, develop automated test scripts and enhance testing efficiency and coverage. Support the Malaysia team in setting up mass production testing procedures and developing standardised test specifications and SOPs. Job

Requirements Bachelor's degree or above in Optoelectronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and verification of optical components or semiconductor equipment. Familiarity with optical communication testing instruments and statistical methods for test data analysis. Ability to independently develop test plans, design test cases and prepare technical documentation.

Proficiency in Python or MATLAB scripting and experience in automated test system development would be an advantage. Hands‑on experience in silicon photonic chip or optical module testing, as well as familiarity with CPO/OE die testing indicators and industry standards, would be advantageous. Good written and reading proficiency in English, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem‑solving.
