Head of Linehaul-Logistics

Vendor & Fleet Management Daraz Express is seeking a strategic and operational leader to head our Linehaul function. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing the end-to-end inter-city transportation network that connects our Sort Centers and Last Miles across the country. You will ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable movement of packages between hubs while maintaining high service level agreements (SLAs).

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in fleet management, vendor negotiation, and network planning within the e-commerce or 3PL sector.

Key

Responsibilities Network Strategy & Planning Design and optimize the national linehaul network to balance speed, cost, and capacity. Plan daily/weekly trunking schedules based on volume forecasts from Sort Centers. Identify opportunities for route consolidation, back-haul utilization, and hub-to-hub efficiency. Vendor & Fleet Management Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners and private fleet owners.

Lead tendering processes, contract negotiations, and rate finalization for linehaul services. Monitor vendor performance against KPIs (On-Time Departure/Arrival, Vehicle Utilization, Damage Rates). Operational Excellence & Cost Control Own the P&L for the Linehaul department; drive continuous cost-per-package reduction initiatives. Implement real-time tracking and visibility solutions for all inbound/outbound trunk movements.

Reduce idle time at sort centers through better scheduling and dock management coordination. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sort Center Heads to align inbound/outbound flows with sorting capacity. Collaborate with Last Mile teams to ensure timely handover of packages for final delivery. Work with Procurement to standardize vehicle

requirements and fuel management policies. Team Leadership & Compliance Build and mentor a high-performing team of Linehaul Managers and Coordinators. Ensure all operations comply with local transport regulations, safety standards, and insurance

requirements. Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making and accountability. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost Per Package (CPP): Achieve target linehaul costs through optimization. Transit Compliance: % of trucks arriving/departing within scheduled windows. Vehicle Utilization: Maximize load factor (%) per trip. Damage/Loss Rate: Minimize transit-related shrinkage. Vendor Compliance: Adherence to SLA terms by 3PL partners. Job

Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering. MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain is highly preferred. Experience 10+ years of experience in Logistics/Supply Chain, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on Linehaul or Freight Management. Proven experience in E-commerce, 3PL, or Retail Distribution networks is mandatory.

Experience managing large-scale fleets (50+ vehicles) or multi-vendor ecosystems. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical skills Deep understanding of TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and GPS tracking technologies. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
