Summary:The Payroll Team Lead is accountable for leading a Payroll team while ensuring team members are effective, efficient, and have accurate performance that meets business objectives and KPIs that are aligned with the company vision and commitments.

Responsibilities:Manage, develop, and lead a team. Monitor daily payroll functions to ensure we are meeting deadlines. Regularly review outstanding items and ensure appropriate prioritization is applied to work tasks. Focus on team performance to ensure that personal, team, and company goals are consistently met or exceeded and within the indicated timeframe. Manage and maintain quality and accuracy of work through audits and timely feedback.

Conduct structured coaching sessions in one-on-ones with team members, providing clear, honest, direct, and thoughtful feedback. Lead the team through periods of change and maintain engagement through consistent one-on-ones and team meetings. Identify training opportunities and seek assistance from the Quality Assurance team to prepare training sessions. Develop and maintain a cross-coverage plan to ensure appropriate work is completed for all payroll tasks.

Review and seek improvements in current process workflows to prevent rework and inefficient practices. Support team by responding to emails and answering calls timely. Serve as an escalation point for your team and customers when dealing with difficult situations. Responsible for covering work assignments when volume fluctuates and assisting when team members are out of the office, as needed.

Seek to understand and deliver on the KPIs that are relevant to your team and be prepared to act when KPIs/goals are not met. Celebrate individual and team wins through meaningful praise and recognition. Assist in the development of efficient and effective customer experiences that meet the needs of internal and external customers and stakeholders. Manage performance, time-off, leave, and other HR-related matters in line with delegated authorities.

Promote a positive work environment that fosters team performance through owning work products and deliverables and through core-values aligned behaviors. Help to build awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the company’s core values and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Assist with projects, reporting requests, and duties of a payroll subject matter expert. Develop, monitor, and coach team members according to their professional development goals.

Help with the onboarding and training of new Payroll Specialists. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:2-3 years of payroll experience required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in multi-state payroll processing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability and desire to work on a team with the common goal to pay our clinicians accurately and on-time. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively. Good negotiating/problem-solving skills. Solid critical thinking skills.

Ability to manage a team and foster a collaborative environment. Motivated with excellent customer service, relational, and verbal/written communication skills. Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment. Must be extremely detail oriented and perform well in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Exceptional customer service skills. Working both independently and as a member of a team with a strong sense of urgency and initiative. Demonstrate resourcefulness, common sense, resiliency, and flexibility. Must be willing to work in rotating shifts or US time zone.
