The Department of Examinations (DoE) runs Sri Lanka's public examination calendar — from G.C.E. Institutional exams — May & June 2026
- Sri Lanka Teachers' Service — graduate competitive exams (2023 & 2026 notices), 24 May 2026, all mediums, islandwide.
- Principals' Service Grade III — limited competitive examination, 7 June 2026, islandwide.

G.C.E. Advanced Level 2026 highlights
Second-edition timetable (5 June 2026): 10 August through 5 September, morning and afternoon sessions. Combined Mathematics, sciences, commerce, languages, technology streams, and Common General Test on 21 August (14:00–17:10).
- Calculators allowed only for Accounting, Bio Systems Technology, Engineering Technology, Science for Technology.
- Phones, correcting fluid, and electronics prohibited in the examination hall.
Gazette vs doenets.lk
The gazette announces legal vacancies and application deadlines. doenets.lk publishes timetables, admit cards, and registration for written examinations. Competitive Grade III recruitment often requires both.

10 August – 5 September 2026 per DoE second-edition timetable (circular 5 June 2026).
When is Grade 5 Scholarship 2026?
Sunday 9 August 2026 — Paper II 09:30–10:45, Paper I 11:15–12:15.
Are Teachers' Service admit cards posted?
No — download from doenets.lk. Email organization@doenets.lk with your full name if needed.
Is DoE competitive entry the same as SLAS?
No. SLAS is a dedicated Administrative Service exam. DoE also runs institutional exams and gazette-linked Grade III papers.
