Exam Pattern 2026

The Preliminary Examination is a single objective-type screening paper. Clear Prelims to appear for Mains; Prelims marks are not added to the final merit.

  • Format: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) — 8 sections, 25 marks each
  • Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted per wrong answer
