Exam Pattern 2026

RPSC RAS has two written stages. Prelims is a single objective paper (200 marks, 3 hours) used only for screening — marks are not counted in final merit. Mains has four descriptive papers (800 marks total). Interview carries 100 marks.

  • Prelims: General Knowledge & General Science — 200 marks, 3 hours, OMR-based
  • 5 options per question — darken one circle with blue ball-point pen; use 5th circle for unattempted
  • Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted per wrong answer or if all five circles left blank
  • Disqualification: leaving >10% questions completely blank (no circle darkened) disqualifies the candidate
  • Prelims is screening only — marks not added to final merit
  • Mains minimum qualifying: 10% per paper + 15% aggregate (General); 5% relaxation for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/PwD
  • Mains papers answered entirely in Hindi or entirely in English — no mixed language

Age Relaxation (Rajasthan State Candidates)

Application Form Correction Window

RPSC allows corrections to the online application through two windows:

  • During active application period and up to 10 days after the last date (3 July 2026).
  • A second window opens 60 days before the declared exam date and remains open for 7 days.
  • Core OTR fields (name, father's name, DOB, gender) cannot be edited in the form — update Aadhaar/Jan Aadhaar first, then sync via OTR profile.

Preparation Tips

  • Rajasthan GK (history, geography, culture, economy) carries heavy weight in both Prelims and Mains — prioritise it over generic national GK.
  • Prelims OMR rule: always darken the 5th circle for unattempted questions to avoid disqualification (>10% blank = disqualification).
  • Mains requires answer-writing practice — join a test series for 200-mark GS papers.
  • Paper IV (Hindi & English) is at 12th standard — revise grammar, précis and essay formats early.
