Legal Counsel - Financial Services

This role covers ur client is a prominent, well-established local securities firm with a strong footprint in Singapore’s financial services sector. Known for their agile environment and deep local roots, they offer a comprehensive suite of services including retail and institutional equities trading, wealth management, and corporate finance advisory. They are currently seeking a high-caliber Legal Counsel to join their lean and collaborative legal team.

The Role Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the firm's business interests while enabling growth. This is a broad, hands-on corporate commercial and regulatory role where you will advise on a diverse range of capital markets activities and operational matters.

Key

Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate a wide spectrum of legal documents, including client onboarding agreements, brokerage agreements, distribution agreements, vendor contracts, and non-disclosure agreements. Provide timely and practical legal advice to business units (Equities, Wealth Management, Corporate Finance) on day-to-day operational issues, transaction structures, and new product launches.

Partner closely with the Compliance team to ensure operational policies, procedures, and business practices align with statutory

requirements Manage corporate secretarial matters and handle external counsel effectively when specialized litigation or cross-border advice is required.

Requirements Bachelor of Laws (LL. ) from a recognized university; admitted to the Singapore Bar. 5-7 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) gained either within a reputable law firm’s capital markets/corporate practice or in-house at a financial institution (securities house, fund manager, or bank). Commercial acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented advice to business stakeholders under tight timelines.
