1) Confirm the circle language on your 10th marksheet. 2) Open the portal vacancy list for that circle’s divisions. 3) Rank every Post ID you will actually join. Village posts with a BPM building requirement are harder to hold after offer.

Preference rules (this decides your village)
- Only posts you rank are considered. Un-ticked Post IDs are gone even if you have higher marks.
- If merit fits two offices, you get the first preference only; the rest are forfeited.
- Same-name posts in one office have different Post IDs — rank each ID separately.

Which circle has the most GDS vacancies?
North Eastern (2,614), then Maharashtra (2,431) and Tamil Nadu (2,118). Delhi has 16. Pick the circle whose local language you studied till Class 10.
What is the difference between BPM, ABPM and Dak Sevak?
BPM runs the branch office and must arrange the building. ABPM assists the BPM. Dak Sevak is mainly delivery. ABPM and Dak Sevak share the lower TRCA band.
Should I prefer every Post ID in the division?
Yes if you will actually join that village. You are not considered for un-preferred IDs. If two posts match your merit, only the higher preference is offered and the rest are forfeited.
