Senior Associate or Senior Manager UAE Tax Practice

About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Associate for lawyers or Senior Manager UAE Tax Practice for non‑lawyers to join our global Tax team in Dubai. Our global Tax team leads on cross‑jurisdictional transactions, working for large corporations, institutional investors, and fund managers. We have one of the largest Tax teams of any international law firm, with over 130 lawyers, economists, and accountants based across the UK, the US, South America, Europe, and the Middle East.

We offer a stand‑alone tax advisory service and transactional tax support on transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, financings, real estate, and investment funds. We also help clients resolve disputes with tax authorities and are one of few global firms to offer both specialist tax dispute resolution expertise and transfer pricing services.

Additional hours may be required. Key ResponsibilitiesReview and adapt duties as required to reflect changes in personnel, management structure, staff location, or services. Participate in the firm’s Responsible Business program.

Develop and apply good working knowledge of UAE tax principles, both within the UAE and on cross‑border transactions involving the UAE. Stay aware of tax developments affecting specialist areas and attend relevant training sessions. Demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and effective time‑management to meet deadlines and respond to requests promptly. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail, seek advice when necessary, and deliver projects to high quality standards.

Show strong project management and organisational skills, own problems, and follow through. Exhibit strong written and oral communication, both internal and client‑facing. Work effectively with others in a team, act as a source of advice, and share knowledge and expertise. Show financial awareness, manage budgets and costs, and record time appropriately. Take ownership of career development, solicit performance feedback, and address skill gaps.

Understand client industry and market, demonstrate commercial awareness, and build strong client relationships. Support the firm’s reputation and community engagement, and champion a diverse workforce. Qualifications6 years or more of post‑qualification experience in tax (lawyers or accountants). Preferred experience within a top‑tier firm. Strong academic background with excellent written communication and drafting skills.

Outstanding technical tax skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues. Team‑oriented, with a strong commercial focus and client‑centric mindset.
