Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - Construction

Black & Grey HR is partnering with a leading construction company based out in the UAE. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Chief Technology Officer who will be responsible for leading the company’s technology and digital transformation. The goal is to use technology to improve construction project delivery, efficiency, safety, and compliance with UAE regulations.

Key

Responsibilities Create and execute a technology roadmap for construction projects, leading digital transformation using AI, automation, cloud, and IoT while integrating systems like BIM, ERP, and project controls. Deploy digital tools for project planning, scheduling, and coordination, using IoT sensors, drones, and digital QA/QC for site monitoring, and integrating data across structural, MEP, and finishing works to reduce delays and rework.

Implement AI for risk management, productivity, and cost forecasting, and use RPA to automate document control, approvals, procurement, and reporting across site and office processes. Protect operational systems and project data with strong cybersecurity, ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations and safety standards, and manage data securely across all project sites.

Manage IT infrastructure for head office and project sites, ensuring reliable BIM, ERP, and collaboration tools while connecting site operations with engineering, planning, procurement, and finance. Explore new technologies (digital twins, blockchain, advanced analytics) and promote sustainable construction tech solutions.

Lead and develop IT and digital teams, align technology use across engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams, and build a culture of innovation and digital adoption. Manage relationships with tech vendors and consultants, and oversee procurement of software, hardware, and construction tech tools.

Requirements Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field. 10–15+ years of senior technology leadership experience, ideally in construction or infrastructure. Proven experience with AI, RPA, cloud, cybersecurity, BIM, and ERP. Good understanding of UAE construction workflows and compliance. Core Competencies AI & Analytics: Ability to implement AI for better decision‑making. RPA & Automation: Expertise in automating manual processes.

Construction Tech: Knowledge of BIM, IoT, drones, and ERP systems. Cybersecurity: Strong grasp of security frameworks and UAE construction rules. Strategic Leadership: Can set a tech vision and lead change. Collaboration: Works well with engineering, commercial, and site teams. Vendor Management: Skilled at negotiating with tech partners. Key Performance Indicators Fewer project delays through better digital planning. Higher productivity from automation.
