Two exams (Core 1 220-1101 and Core 2 220-1102): multiple choice plus performance-based items.

CompTIA publishes scaled passing scores per core. This module mixes hardware, networking, OS and security stems similar in style — not exam dumps.

Live test: Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102): up to 90 items each, multiple choice plus performance-based (PBQ) labs. Seat time 90 minutes per core. Vendor: Pearson VUE (CompTIA). Each core is a separate CompTIA exam voucher. A+ is both cores — passing one is not the cert.

Who sits CompTIA A+

CompTIA recommends (does not require) about 12 months of hands-on support experience. There is no degree gate.

Help desk, desktop support, and field tech listings that ask for A+ or equivalent troubleshooting. Recertify on CompTIA’s three-year CE cycle or pass a higher exam.

How to use this CompTIA A+ practice module

20 original items on Hardware, networking, OS, security. Timed mode is 30 minutes — a pacing drill, not the live clock. Explanations after submit are teaching notes, not CompTIA rationales.

Wrong answers are the point. Flag weak sections, then sit an official practice test before you pay for the real date.

• PBQs are at the start for many candidates — flag and return; do not burn the clock on one lab.
• Core 1: hardware, networking, mobile, virtualization. Core 2: Windows/OS, security, operational procedures.
• This module mixes both cores for vocabulary. Sit CompTIA’s official practice for each core separately.
• Ports (443, 22, 67/68) and RAID levels show up often — memorize the short list, don’t dump full exams.
