Telangana Police Constable recruitment has two written stages. The Preliminary Written Test (PWT) is qualifying — candidates need category-wise minimum percentages (typically 40% OC, 35% BC, 30% SC/ST). The Final Written Examination (FWE) determines merit among candidates who clear PMT and PET. Both papers are 200 MCQs for 200 marks in 3 hours.

General Studies — India & Telangana (100 Questions)

  • Indian history — freedom movement, constitution, national leaders
  • Indian polity — Parliament, judiciary, fundamental rights, Panchayati Raj
  • Geography — India and Telangana rivers, soils, climate, resources
  • General science — physics, chemistry, biology basics; environment
  • Telangana movement, Nizam rule, Hyderabad state, formation of TS (2014)
  • Telangana economy, IT/pharma hubs, state government schemes
  • Current affairs — national and Telangana (last 12 months)

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT) — 200 MCQs, 200 marks, 3 hours (qualifying; marks not added to final merit)
  2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) — height & chest (male) as per post code
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — 1600 m run (male) / 800 m run (female), long jump, high jump, shot put (post-specific)
  4. Final Written Examination (FWE) — 200 MCQs, 200 marks, 3 hours (merit stage)
  5. Document Verification & Medical Examination

Preparation Tips

  • Start with Telangana GK — districts, rivers (Godavari, Krishna, Musi), freedom fighters and state formation timeline.
  • Practice 200-question mock tests in 3 hours to build stamina for PWT and FWE.
  • For PET, train 1600 m runs early — AR/TSSP aspirants should target sub-6-minute timing for maximum PET marks.
  • Revise SSC-level arithmetic daily; TSLPRB questions are often 10th-standard difficulty.
  • Read Telugu/Urdu newspapers alongside English for bilingual paper comfort.
  • Keep photo and signature ready at 20–50 KB / 10–20 KB before the apply window closes.
