  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer

  • PET/PMT are qualifying only — marks are not added to written merit

HP GK & Current Affairs (High Priority)

  • HP history — princely states, merger with India, statehood (1971)
  • HP geography — 12 districts, Beas/Sutlej/Ravi rivers, passes, national parks
  • HP government schemes — Him Ganga, Sahara Yojana, Mukhyamantri Swavlamban
  • HP economy — horticulture, tourism, hydropower (SJVN, NHPC)
  • HP administration — HP Police Act, current DGP, major police stations
  • National & HP current affairs (last 12 months)

General Knowledge & Everyday Science

  • Indian history, polity and Constitution basics
  • Physics, chemistry, biology (Class 9–10 NCERT level)
  • Environment, sports and national events
  • Awards, books and important personalities

Hindi Language

  • व्याकरण — संधि, समास, लिंग, वचन, कारक
  • Comprehension and passage-based questions
  • Fill in the blanks, antonyms/synonyms
  • Error detection and sentence correction

Arithmetic & Mental Ability

  • Number system, HCF/LCM, percentage, ratio
  • Profit & loss, simple interest, averages
  • Series, analogies, coding-decoding
  • Blood relations and direction sense

Selection Process

  1. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) — height, weight, chest (qualifying)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — 1600 m run (male) / 800 m run (female), long jump, high jump (qualifying)
  3. Written Examination — 100 marks OMR-based objective paper (2 hours)
  4. Medical Examination — fitness assessment
  5. Document Verification — original certificates check
