Director of Operations

Operations Director – Renewable Energy Location: Manila, Philippines A leading renewable energy platform is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the operations and performance of a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets across the Philippines.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, asset reliability, HSE compliance, and overall plant performance while supporting the company's continued expansion in the renewable energy sector. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the operations and maintenance strategy for a portfolio of utility and commercial-scale renewable energy assets across multiple sites in the Philippines.

Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring maximum availability, performance, and operational efficiency. Drive operational improvements, asset optimisation, preventive maintenance programmes, and performance monitoring. Manage site leadership teams and work closely with engineering, maintenance, HSE, and project teams. Utilise SCADA and other monitoring systems to analyse plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and improve asset reliability.

Develop and monitor operational KPIs, budgets, maintenance plans, and reporting for senior management. Ensure compliance with all local regulatory, environmental, and safety

requirements. Support the operational handover of new renewable energy projects into commercial operation. Travel regularly to project sites across Philippines to oversee operations and engage with site teams and key stakeholders. RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Approximately 10–20 years of experience within the power or renewable energy sector.

Proven experience managing the operations of multiple renewable energy assets, preferably solar power plants. Strong understanding of plant operations, maintenance planning, asset management, and operational performance optimisation. Hands-on experience using SCADA systems for plant monitoring and performance management. Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary operations teams across multiple locations.

Strong knowledge of HSE standards, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices. Willingness and ability to travel frequently across project sites within the Philippines. Preferred ExperienceExperience overseeing renewable energy assets. Exposure to utility-scale solar projects is advantageous but not essential. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
