Chief Engineer Location: Seda BGC HotelDepartment: Engineering & MaintenanceReports To: General Manager The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall management, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all hotel engineering systems, facilities, and equipment. The position ensures that the hotel's physical assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, sustainability, and guest satisfaction. The Chief Engineer shall oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, lead the Engineering team, ensure compliance with government regulations, and support the achievement of the hotel's operational and financial objectives .Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringLicensed Mechanical Engineer (Required)Certified Pollution Control Officer (PCO) (Required)Knowledgeable in Emergency Response Team (ERT) management and emergency preparedness programsMinimum of five (5) years of experience in a Senior Managerial or Chief Engineer role within a hotel, commercial building, mixed-use development, or similar facilityExtensive experience in building maintenance, facilities management, and engineering operations.Strong knowledge of government regulatory compliance, including environmental, occupational safety, fire safety, and building regulations.Proven leadership, people management, and project management skills.Proficient in engineering systems, energy management, budgeting, and contractor management. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Operations & MaintenanceDirect and manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering DepartmentDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all hotel facilities and equipment.Ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, generators, elevators, fire protection systems, and other critical infrastructures.Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Oversee renovation, repair, and capital expenditure projects. Building Maintenance & Asset ManagementMaintain the hotel's physical assets and infrastructure in excellent operating condition.Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance requirements.Establish asset management strategies to maximize equipment lifespan and operational efficiency. Ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders and engineering projects. Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with all applicable government regulations and standards, includingOccupational Safety and Health Standards (OSH)Fire Safety RegulationsEnvironmental Laws and DENR RequirementsBuilding Code and Local Government RequirementsEnergy Efficiency and Sustainability RegulationsServe as the designated Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and permits. Coordinate with government agencies, auditors, and inspectors during compliance audits and inspections. Emergency Response & Risk ManagementLead the hotel's Emergency Response Team (ERT) and emergency preparedness initiatives.Develop and maintain emergency response plans and business continuity procedures.Conduct regular emergency drills and safety training programs.Ensure readiness of all life-safety systems and emergency equipment's. Financial ManagementPrepare and manage the Engineering Department's annual operating and capital budgetsMonitor utility consumption and implement cost-saving initiativesIdentify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
