Demand Planning Manager

Job description

The Demand Planning Manager forecasts product demand, maintains optimal inventory, aligns supply chain activities with business goals, analyzes sales data, collaborates with teams, develops forecasts, mitigates risks, and improves demand planning processes for customer satisfaction and business objectives. Responsibilities Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales data to generate accurate demand forecasts, align sales targets with merchandising teams, and create rolling 18-month forecasts based on specific parameters. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of demand planners to achieve departmental goals and optimize the demand planning process. S&OP Implementation: Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between sales & operations, merchandizing and supply chain activities to meet business objectives and optimize demand planning. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales & operations, marketing, and supply planners to gather input for demand planning and ensure strategic alignment of sales targets. Inventory Management: Synchronize demand forecasts with inventory targets to consistently achieve optimal inventory levels and bolster overall business strategies. Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning Risk Mitigation and Contingency Planning: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, develop contingency plans, and ensure business continuity. Forecast Alignment and Insights: Present forecast to management, provide strategic insights on unconstraint demand, and support data-driven decision-making. Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identify trends, track ad hoc promotions, consolidate data to determine net demand, make strategic allocation decisions for promotions, and continuously improve the demand planning process. Core Competencies Leadership: Effectively lead, mentor, and manage a demand planning team. Strategic Thinking: Develop and align strategic demand planning processes with business goals. Communication: Convey strategic insights and plans to senior management with excellent written and verbal skills. Strategic Inventory Management: Synchronize demand forecasts with inventory targets to achieve optimal levels and support business strategies. S&OP Implementation: Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for alignment between sales, operations, and supply chain activities. Risk Mitigation: Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans for business continuity. Demand Planning Software: Advanced proficiency with demand planning tools and software. Data Analysis Tools: Expertise in Excel, SAP, and advanced data analysis tools for strategic decision-making.
