How to verify an “DA hiked” forward

  1. Open doe.gov.in → Orders / Resolutions.
  2. Match the effective date (1 Jan / 1 July) and whether it is serving DA or pensioner DR.
  3. State employees wait for their Finance Department GO — central 60% does not auto-apply to AP/UP/WB.

FAQs

What is central DA right now?

60% of basic pay from 1 January 2026 for central staff and pensioners covered by that OM. Always open the latest Department of Expenditure order on doe.gov.in before changing payroll.

Has July 2026 DA been approved?

Not as a published Cabinet / DoE OM as of early September 2026. Running CPI-IW maths used by blogs is unofficial.

Is 8th Pay Commission fitment 3.83 confirmed?

No. 3.83 is a JCM / staff-side demand. The Commission was set up on 3 November 2025 and has about 18 months to report (~May 2027).

Does state DA follow central DA automatically?

No. State governments issue their own DA GOs. Central 60% does not change AP/UP/WB pay until that state copies it.

DA for pensioners?

Central DR (dearness relief) is usually revised with the same effective date as serving DA, via a separate DoPPW / DoE order. Check the pension OM, not only the serving-employee OM.
