Job Role The Data Cruncher & Inventory Demand Forecaster will be responsible for analyzing operational data, forecasting inventory requirements, and supporting supply chain optimization initiatives across mining and heavy equipment operations. This role focuses on translating large volumes of operational, maintenance, warehouse, and procurement data into actionable insights that improve inventory planning, reduce stock shortages, and support uninterrupted site operations. The successful candidate will work closely with procurement teams, warehouse operations, maintenance planners, logistics personnel, and senior management to develop forecasting models, optimize inventory strategies, and improve material planning processes. This position is highly suitable for analytical professionals with strong experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, supply chain analytics, or operational data analysis within mining, heavy equipment, logistics, or industrial environments. Key Responsibilities Collect, consolidate, validate, and analyze operational, inventory, maintenance, and procurement data from multiple project sites and warehouses.Develop inventory forecasting models to predict demand for spare parts, consumables, fuel, lubricants, and other critical operational materials.Monitor inventory performance, stock movements, consumption trends, and replenishment requirements to support continuous operational readiness.Calculate and maintain optimal inventory parameters, including safety stock levels, reorder points, inventory turnover targets, and economic order quantities (EOQ).Analyze equipment maintenance records, component lifecycles, failure trends, and replacement patterns to improve inventory planning accuracy.Identify slow-moving inventory, excess stock, obsolete materials, and cost-saving opportunities across warehouse operations.Create dashboards, reports, and analytical presentations to support management decision-making and operational planning.Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and maintenance teams to align inventory forecasts with operational requirements and maintenance schedules.Support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes by ensuring accurate demand projections and inventory planning assumptions.Review and validate data accuracy within ERP systems, inventory databases, and operational reporting platforms.Monitor supply chain risks, supplier lead times, logistics constraints, and operational variables that may impact inventory availability and business continuity.Provide recommendations to improve inventory efficiency, working capital utilization, procurement planning, and overall supply chain performance. Requirements Bachelor's Degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Operations Research, Economics, or other quantitative disciplines.Minimum 5 years of experience in Inventory Planning, Demand Forecasting, Supply Chain Analytics, Data Analysis, Materials Planning, or related functions.Proven experience within Mining Contractors, Heavy Equipment, Mining Operations, Automotive Supply Chains, Industrial Manufacturing, Logistics, or other asset-intensive industries.Strong understanding of inventory management principles, forecasting methodologies, material planning processes, and supply chain optimization techniques.Experience managing spare parts planning, equipment-related inventory, fuel consumption analysis, maintenance planning data, or asset-based supply chain operations.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, data modeling, and analytical reporting.Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or other enterprise supply chain platforms.Practical experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or other data visualization and analytics tools is highly preferred.Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, attention to detail, and ability to interpret large datasets accurately.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present complex analytical findings to both operational and executive audiences.Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, warehouses, and operational locations when required.Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, for reporting, analysis presentation, and communication with international stakeholders and suppliers.
