Regular or Visiting Faculty (2027) | Electrical Engineering

Position Overview The Department of Electrical Engineering (ELE) in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a Regular faculty position or Visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, commencing in Fall 2027. The visiting faculty positions are primarily focused on teaching.

Successful candidates for the regular positions will be expected to establish high‑level, active research programs supported by internal and external funding sources. The visiting position is a one‑year renewable contract, and the regular position is a three‑year renewable contract.

Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical Engineering. For regular positions: Establish and maintain a high‑level, active research program supported by internal and external funding. For visiting positions: Focus on teaching duties for a one‑year renewable contract.

Qualifications PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Strong research profile in physical AI, machine learning, computer vision, or sensor fusion with applications to intelligent cyber‑physical systems. Experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Excellence in teaching and research, and experience in the American model of higher education is desirable.
